University of Iowa, Little Brothers, Friends of the Elderly
This letter was the centerpiece of a direct mail package sent to raise funds to take Chicago's elderly—this who are alone, poor and generally forgotten—on a "summer vacation" when they can escape their sad, day-to-day existence for a refreshing, happy respite in the country.
The marketers at the National Safety Council tapped us to create a new dm package member acquisition to test against their existing control. It consisted of a letter, brochure, order form, and lift note. The offer and promotional incentives were the same as those in the control mailer. This test (now the NSC control) nearly doubled response, and after eight subsequent campaigns, it remains the control.

direct mail membership package
Introduction of a new European brand of handcrafted antique reproductions from the Czech Republic. Targeted to high-end decorators practicing in the United States, it emphasized the "locked behind the Iron Curtain" provenance of the furniture and played up the romance and drama of the designs' aristocratic origins and its subsequent saving from destruction by a government who condemned it as symbols of noble privilege.
